There’s a small Special School in Madang PNG whose object is to train their students in basic life skills which will enable them to survive in their challenging village conditions. Principal, Berenice, and all teachers are fluent in sign language; Des is legally blind and we’re trying to source some books in braille and other “blind” equipment to assist him; Virginia and Magdalena instruct the girls in using the sewing machines we send; Robert teaches the boys basic trade skills using pre-loved tools and equipment we provide. These two young students are proudly displaying stools they’ve made to sell at the school fete in order to raise funds to keep the school open.
