Our Vision
Someone Who Cares is an Australian not for profit company whose primary aim is to help those in desperate need of goods or services locally, nationally or internationally.
We create opportunities for people to learn more about less fortunate communities and provides a pathway for people to do something for these communities through donations, volunteering or training.
We run learning programs with disengaged youth, new migrants and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities; remodels and renovates buses and donates them to approved local, national or international charities or communities.
Summary of Services
Someone Who Cares works closely with people and communities in need through coordinating, sourcing and collecting items necessary that can be new, reused, recycled and repurposed and transporting them to the community in need.
We are currently working with local businesses and organisations collecting items donated to be gifted to people and communities in need.
We work with like-minded organisations, businesses and services to increase the awareness of need within communities and how they can assist.
Someone Who Cares aims to work with disenfranchised young people and members of the local region providing an opportunity to volunteer, learn and participate in national and international charity projects; thus giving a sense of purpose.
We run from our Underwood premises as it is central to Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast and is close to the shipping terminal.
Our Underwood premises has a large warehouse, plenty secured open area for storing shipping containers with easy access for large transportation services to deliver and collect. This premises is equipped with forklifts and other lifting aids.
We also have space for the buses and workshop space for transformation of buses can take place, along with a well appointed training room with all required facilities and amenities.
It is envisaged that there would be a Gold Coast premise in the near future to duplicate activities that are running in Underwood.
